How we want to overcome this problem in school?
1. Teenagers
- Learn to recognize bullying as soon as it starts.
- Recognize that you have a right that not to be bullied, harassed or abused.
- It is normal but misplaced if you feel shame, embarrassment, guilt and fear. The bullies stimulate these as part of trying to control you. Overrule these feelings.
2. Parents
- Don't expect your children to tell you they are being bullied.
- Talk to your children about bullying, explain the dynamics, and tell them to tell you as soon as it starts.
- Learn to recognize the signs of your child being bullied.
3. Teachers and School
- Ensure that the anti-bullying policy is effectively implemented and not just gathering dust on the shelf.
- Take a proactive approach to bullying, not a reactive one which will be too late.
- Ensure that all children understand what bullying is, and where and why it takes place.
