Topic 2: Case Bully in School ( Dealing with the Problem)

How we want to overcome this problem in school?

1. Teenagers
  • Learn to recognize bullying as soon as it starts.
  • Recognize that you have a right that not to be bullied, harassed or abused.
  • It is normal but misplaced if you feel shame, embarrassment, guilt and fear. The bullies stimulate these as part of trying to control you. Overrule these feelings.
2. Parents
  • Don't expect your children to tell you they are being bullied.
  • Talk to your children about bullying, explain the dynamics, and tell them to tell you as soon as it starts.
  • Learn to recognize the signs of your child being bullied.
3. Teachers and School
  • Ensure that the anti-bullying policy is effectively implemented and not just gathering dust on the shelf.
  • Take a proactive approach to bullying, not a reactive one which will be too late.
  • Ensure that all children understand what bullying is, and where and why it takes place.

In my opinion, I think public also have roles to play. Such as, when they see any kid being bullied, they should try to stop it or tell the kids parent. Besides, public should be more caring, letting other people know they are being cared to create a harmony environment.

Furthermore, what should we do with the bully? Punish them? Rate them as bad students and let them rot in the abyss of darkness? Shun them from society? I was wondering if there is any form of salvation for the likes of them.

  3. The root of the problem is the bully so the teachers should take the bully out and give him/her intensive counseling and more attention in class. most bully act out to gain attention and love in a wrong way.
the victim should also seek counseling to overcome emotional trauma.

I really like the point about parents. Most parents do not really care of what happen to their children at school. They are too busy working and sometimes don't even have time to talk with their children.

  5. yup as sandra said that most bully done so just to seek attention and of course it's a wrong way to do so. The victims themselves should not fear to report the misery they suffered to the responsible one. Teachers and parents must aware if there is any sign that their students or children being bullied. There must be some change in attitudes and a person who's being bullied normally talk less than usual him/her.

I believe that, everyone should to take part in order to overcome bully problem.Even thousand of campaign made by government to stop this problem, it not work if the teenager itself do not change their perception on others. As what i see nowadays, not only the students is the victim but parents and teacher is among the victim. Who should be blame? Teenager, parents, government?

Hmm...I think the community plays an important role as well. If bully happens outside the school, then it'll be the community's responsibility to stop it if one happens to come across this incident anywhere.

I agree with Dommelly partially in what she has said. No matter how much campaign and awareness the Government is trying to create,it'd be useless if the society (students, teachers, parents, community)choose to ignore the case.

  8. Parents should be aware of warning sign that their children been bullied. They should go and meet the teachers and school administration to discuss about the matter and find the best solution together.
