Topic 2: Case Bully in School ( Dealing with the Problem)

How we want to overcome this problem in school?

1. Teenagers
  • Learn to recognize bullying as soon as it starts.
  • Recognize that you have a right that not to be bullied, harassed or abused.
  • It is normal but misplaced if you feel shame, embarrassment, guilt and fear. The bullies stimulate these as part of trying to control you. Overrule these feelings.
2. Parents
  • Don't expect your children to tell you they are being bullied.
  • Talk to your children about bullying, explain the dynamics, and tell them to tell you as soon as it starts.
  • Learn to recognize the signs of your child being bullied.
3. Teachers and School
  • Ensure that the anti-bullying policy is effectively implemented and not just gathering dust on the shelf.
  • Take a proactive approach to bullying, not a reactive one which will be too late.
  • Ensure that all children understand what bullying is, and where and why it takes place.

POEM on Case Bully

Fist punch.
Foot crunch.
Hand hit.
Mouth spit.
Eye swells.
Can’t see.
Please,
Please,
Let me be.

Rips my homework.
Steals my money.
Grabs my lunch.
Thinks it’s funny.

I won’t tell, I swear I won’t.
Please don’t do that. I said “Don’t!”

Sticks and stones may break my bones …
Sissy
Prissy
Four-eyes
Geek
Fatso
Schizo
Nerdy
Freak
… but names can really hurt.

Through the doors.
Up the stairs.
Face is bloody.
No one cares.

In the washroom.
Clean up the mess.
I’ll be safe
Until … recess.

Topic 1: Teenage Pregancy ( Part 1~ Overview)

Teenage pregnancy or some call it adolescent pregnancy is a major social issue that gain loads of attention in Malaysia. It is defined as teenager/ underage female becoming pregnant. Here in this post, we are going to discuss the background of Malaysian teenage pregnancy. Over these years, the statistic of teenage pregnancy given by the Malaysian Welfare Department has shown drastic increase.

The numbers of teenage pregnancy are published by the Malaysian Welfare Department annually. However the numbers seem to be unreliable as there are many cases which are left unreported.

Unlike Western countries, teenage pregnancy in Malaysia is stigmatized. Therefore, these teens might run away from home or dump their newborn babies. Illegal abortions and dumping babies into trash bin are the two worse consequences that caused by teenage pregnancy.

The causes and effects of teenage pregnancy will be further discussed by us in our next post. Upon creating this topic on teenage pregnancy we hope our suggested advices can benefit our teenagers and societies. Till then, stay tuned and read more about this in the next interesting post.
